I have been transitioning for a long time, but because I refused to embrace my natural curls, I ended up damaging them a lot. Instead of relaxers, I used kiddie texturizers as a substitute. It has been noted that while these are suppose to wash out, it was still a chemical. It was not until the end of my senior year, that I decided that I would not straighten my hair anymore. I transitioned starting in May of 2012, up until February 1, 2013 when I cut all my hair off. I have not straighten my hair since May of 2012.
